Great piece, beautiful AND STABLE on the stone slab January 27, 2009

We put our new Decolav 1430 in the children's bathroom and really love this sink. It is aesthetically pleasing; stable (thanks to the large, rectangular base); and deep enough to not necessarily need a backsplash (water from the faucet doesn't splash up out of the bowl without serious effort ... remember, this is a kid's bathroom. We are using a backsplash, but I am not sure it is really necessary. You might want to see this sink up close before finishing your cabinets/stonework/tile-work.
The only annoying problem we ran into was being misled by one of the websites into thinking we needed a special drain for the sink. The part number (for the special drain) displayed on the 1430-CWH webpage (not Amazon) was just plain wrong. That unnecessary part was titled, "Decolav 9297-CP Push Button Closing Umbrella Drain with Overflow". We didn't need it at all (AND IT DIDN'T FIT!). Don't be duped into buying parts you don't need. (BTW, that website also urges you to buy the Decolav decorative P-trap. You can pick a decorative P-trap out at Lowes or Home Depot if you are really concerned about the appearance of the P-trap ... we weren't due to the fact that our plumbing is not exposed.
The one thing you DO need to order separately is the faucet. We went with the KOHLER K-10579-4P-CP Bancroft Monoblock Lavatory Faucet and just love the look and functionality of the combo.
